With the festive season of Holi approaching, markets nationwide are bustling with activity as people flock to purchase colors. The demand for eco-friendly colors, particularly in Maharashtra’s Nagpur, is on the rise. The Adamane family, known for producing organic colors for three generations, is promoting the use of these safe and environmentally friendly alternatives.
Roshan Adamne, representing the family’s legacy, explained that their organic colors are made using arrowroot powder and food-grade safe colors, without any harmful chemicals. These colors, available in shades like green, blue, red, and yellow, are prepared naturally and packaged for distribution. The eco-friendly gulal is not only affordable this year, possibly due to GST effects, but it also addresses concerns about skin allergies and environmental pollution.
The shift towards organic colors is driven by increasing awareness of the health and environmental risks posed by chemical colors. Consumers are opting for natural alternatives to steer clear of skin and eye issues, as well as to reduce environmental impact. The eco-friendly gulal from Nagpur not only ensures a safe celebration of Holi but also upholds the colorful traditions of the festival.
