At least eight individuals lost their lives, and numerous others sustained injuries in a tragic road mishap near Ashrafpur Bhua village on the Jalalpur–Akbarpur road in Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar. The incident occurred in two phases, starting with a head-on collision between two motorcycles late on Sunday near the Ashrafpur locality, leaving both riders severely wounded. Subsequently, a speeding car from the Jalalpur side veered out of control and crashed into the group of rescuers and onlookers, causing further harm.

The injured were promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where six individuals were pronounced dead upon arrival. Two critically injured victims were transferred to a higher medical facility but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. The Additional Superintendent of Police, East, Tejveer Singh, explained that the motorcycle collision initially drew people to the scene, leading to the tragic outcome of the subsequent car accident. All eight victims have tragically lost their lives in this series of events.

The area was engulfed in panic and disorder following the incident. Law enforcement swiftly responded, with police teams arriving at the scene promptly and arranging for post-mortem examinations of the deceased. Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, a group of children faced a tragic ordeal when attempting to climb down an abandoned water tank. One child lost their life in the fall, two others suffered critical injuries, and the remaining two were stranded atop the structure until rescued by an Indian Air Force helicopter.
