Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister-designate D.K. Shivakumar in Bengaluru. The Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Seemanth Kumar Singh, mentioned that a review meeting was conducted with senior police officers to discuss security, traffic management, and law-and-order preparations for the event.
Only individuals with valid passes will be permitted entry into the Lok Bhavan premises for the ceremony. Traffic movements in various parts of Bengaluru have been adjusted in light of the event, although no roadshow is expected. Extensive deployment of police personnel is in place to ensure the safety of VIPs and dignitaries attending the ceremony.
Shivakumar is scheduled to take the oath of office in the presence of religious leaders from different faiths. Around 55 religious leaders, including Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, have been invited to participate. The Karnataka government has declared a half-day holiday for employees at certain government buildings on the day of the ceremony to manage traffic congestion and enhance security.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot oversaw the preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Lok Bhavan. The oath-taking event for the new Chief Minister of Karnataka is set to take place at 4:05 p.m. at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan. Separate seating arrangements have been made for the families and supporters of key political figures attending the ceremony.
The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a simple affair without extravagance. Traffic advisories have been issued by the Bengaluru Police Commissioner due to anticipated heavy traffic in the Central Business District area during the event. Specific restrictions on vehicle movements have been put in place for designated routes leading to Lok Bhavan.
