A tragic incident unfolded in Mumbai’s Nagpada area where an elderly man was fatally stabbed amid a financial disagreement. The victim, Mohammed Iqbal Ibrahim Selia, was attacked at his residence on Maulana Azad Road by the accused, Sadiq Akib Jawar, following an argument over an investment. Selia suffered fatal injuries in the assault, leading to his immediate demise.

The Mumbai Police disclosed that Selia had invested a significant amount with Jawar, leading to a dispute over expected returns. The altercation turned violent, resulting in Jawar assaulting Selia with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries. Authorities described the attack as exceptionally brutal due to the extent of the injuries sustained by the victim.

Law enforcement has taken the accused, Sadiq Akib Jawar, into custody following the incident. The case has been registered at Nagpada Police Station under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details surrounding the tragic event.

In a separate incident from September 2025, Mumbai Police arrested a man for allegedly orchestrating the murder of his 70-year-old father over a property dispute in Kandivali. The victim, Mohammad Syed, was attacked by hired assailants at his metal factory in the Government Industrial Estate at Charkop. Police investigations revealed crucial evidence from CCTV footage, leading to the arrest of the victim’s son and his business partner in connection with the crime.
