Panic ensued at Ganeshwar Tirtha Dham in Rajasthan’s Sikar district when a suitcase thrown into a pond within the temple complex exploded, creating chaos among devotees, workers, and visitors. Two unidentified individuals reportedly hurled the suitcase into the pond just before the blast, leading to a sudden loud explosion that prompted people to flee for safety. The incident occurred during ongoing restoration and development work near the pond.
Construction worker Suresh Gurjar, an eyewitness to the event, described how the force of the blast shattered the suitcase into pieces, causing debris to damage the pond walls and water to splash out. The intensity of the explosion triggered fear among those present, resulting in a swift evacuation of the entire Dham complex as a precautionary measure. Following the blast, authorities from Sadar police station arrived, secured the area, and commenced an investigation.
Police teams at the scene collected samples and statements from witnesses and temple personnel to gather evidence. The security around the religious complex and its vicinity has been heightened to prevent any further incidents, with additional security deployed due to the large crowd that gathered post-explosion. Law enforcement officials are actively searching for the suspects and analyzing CCTV footage to identify the youths responsible for the explosion.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sushil Mann assured that the area has been sealed off, forensic teams are gathering evidence, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain the nature of the explosive material and the motives behind the incident. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and assist in the investigation process. More information is expected as forensic analysis progresses and the probe continues.
