External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Minister-President Mario Voigt of Thuringia, Germany in New Delhi to explore business opportunities and technology collaborations. The discussions focused on enhancing India-Germany and India-European Union relationships. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also engaged with the German delegation, emphasizing cooperation in urban development, technology, governance, and skill development.
Both sides delved into potential partnerships in smart urban development, sustainable infrastructure, digital governance, and innovation-driven public services. The talks encompassed areas such as mobility solutions, water management, environmental technologies, education, and skill development initiatives to boost talent mobility between India and Germany. The leaders highlighted the growing India-Germany partnership across various sectors under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently met with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Berlin to deepen defence cooperation and address emerging geopolitical challenges. They discussed bilateral security and defence matters, emphasizing co-development and co-production of defence equipment, especially in niche technologies. The ministers also signed agreements on the Defence Industrial Roadmap and Cooperation in UN Peacekeeping.
Singh and Pistorius exchanged views on enhancing defence cooperation and addressing global uncertainties. They emphasized condemning terrorism unequivocally and strengthening regional stability. The ministers highlighted the India-EU Security and Defence Partnership as a significant step towards collective engagement and strategic alignment. They expressed commitment to leveraging this framework for mutual benefits and reinforcing the enduring Indo-German partnership.
