Faizabad Bar Association President, Kalika Mishra, declared that no advocate from the association would represent the accused in the Ram Mandir donation-related theft case. Mishra emphasized that any advocate representing the accused would have to pay a penalty of Rs 5 lakh as per the association’s decision.
Mishra mentioned that a panel of advocates had been formed to handle the prosecution in the case. He stated that a committee, along with 12 other members, would take legal action against Champat Rai, Gopal Rao, and Anil Mishra if they were found to be involved.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the current investigation, Mishra highlighted the demand for a CBI probe to identify the real culprits. He expressed suspicion towards certain individuals and criticized the ongoing SIT investigation for not resolving the major theft effectively.
Mishra also raised concerns about the selection of Nipendra Mishra as a representative, citing potential controversies due to his past government representation. He stressed the scrutiny of external advocates to ensure no affiliations with the government, VHP, or Ram Janmabhoomi Trust.
