Fakhar Zaman has been suspended for two matches in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to a Level 3 breach of the tournament’s Code of Conduct. The suspension follows an incident during the Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The violation pertains to Article 2.14 of the Code, addressing actions such as altering the ball’s condition, which is against the HBL PSL Playing Conditions. This includes actions like roughening the ball, applying substances to it, or interfering with its seams.
In response to the on-field incident, Lahore Qalandars were penalized with five runs, and the ball was changed before the final over of Karachi Kings’ innings. Fakhar denied the allegations and chose to challenge them during a formal disciplinary hearing.
Match referee Roshan Mahanama oversaw the hearing, where evidence was reviewed, and Fakhar presented his case. Lahore Qalandars are scheduled to play upcoming matches against Multan Sultans and Islamabad United.
