The suicide case of a young woman in Karwar district has taken a new turn as the victim’s family accuses a JD(S) woman leader’s son and criticizes the police for inaction. Rishale D’Souza tragically died by suicide on January 9 in Kadra village, with her mother alleging that the JD(S) leader’s son sexually assaulted and tortured her daughter. The family has reached out to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Parameshwara, expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of action against the accused.
Christoda D’Souza, the victim’s mother, revealed that her daughter was allegedly brutally tortured before her death, with visible bite marks found during the post-mortem examination. She emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to ensure justice for her daughter. The family suspects that the accused, who is currently missing, played a significant role in the events leading to Rishale’s suicide.
The FIR filed in the case details the accused’s alleged harassment and emotional abuse towards Rishale, leading to her tragic decision to end her life. The accused has been charged under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family. Despite the serious allegations and evidence presented, no concrete actions have been taken against the accused, leaving the family distraught and seeking justice for their daughter’s untimely death.
