Three family members tragically died in a car fire in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district, while two others sustained severe burn injuries. The incident occurred when the car, driven by Seetam Kelkar, lost control, crashed, and burst into flames near Kewalari intersection on the Baihar-Malajkhand road.
Eyewitnesses suggest that the driver might have momentarily dozed off, causing the accident. Seetam Kelkar, along with his parents and a neighbor’s child, was returning home when the car caught fire, leaving little time for escape.
Despite efforts by bystanders to rescue the occupants, only three individuals could be pulled out of the burning vehicle. The victims who perished in the fire were identified as Nagarchi Kelkar, Savita Kelkar, and their three-year-old son, Abhi Kelkar.
Rescuers managed to save an 8-year-old girl from the flames. The police have initiated an investigation into the accident, with initial reports suggesting driver fatigue as a possible cause. The tragic incident underscores the risks of night driving and emphasizes the importance of road safety measures.
