Three members of a family tragically lost their lives in a devastating road accident near Raybag town in Karnataka’s Belagavi district. The victims, identified as Mahanthesh Mane (27), his wife Sakshi Mane (23), and their six-month-old son Samarth from Bommanal village in Raybag taluk, were on a motorcycle when a goods auto driving on the wrong side collided with them. Sadly, all three succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Another child who was also on the motorcycle sustained severe injuries and is currently in critical condition, receiving treatment at a local hospital. The family was en route from Bommanal village to Raybag town when the fatal accident occurred on the outskirts of Raybag. The collision, caused by a goods auto speeding on the wrong side of the road, resulted in the tragic loss of the couple and their infant.
The impact of the crash threw the family members onto the road, leading to severe injuries and fatal consequences. Tragically, the auto driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene immediately after the accident. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, with a case registered at the Raybag police station. Efforts are underway to locate the driver who absconded following the collision.
In a recent similar incident in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district, five individuals lost their lives in a collision between a cruiser vehicle and a lorry near Ladlapur. The Superintendent of Police, A. Srinivasulu, visited the accident site to assess the situation surrounding the tragic crash. Additionally, in Yadgir, Karnataka, a separate accident last month resulted in the death of seven individuals from the same family, with two children sustaining injuries after a car collided with a bus.
