A tragic incident occurred on the Jaipur–Bandikui Expressway early Saturday morning when a car collided with a trailer, resulting in the death of Sub-Inspector (SI) Hanuman Meena, aged 55, who was stationed at Sapotra Police Station in Karauli. Three others, including two constables, sustained injuries in the crash and have been hospitalized in Dausa, with their condition reported as stable by local authorities.
The collision took place around 5 a.m. near Nangal Bela village (Channel Number 39) within the jurisdiction of Aandhi Police Station in Jaipur Rural. Prompt police response led to the injured being swiftly transported to the hospital for medical care, while the body of SI Hanuman Meena was sent for post-mortem examination.
The car involved was carrying personnel from Sapotra Police Station who were returning from Meerut via Delhi after handling a case. Following a food stop near Delhi around 2:00 a.m., the occupants had resumed their journey towards Karauli and reportedly fell asleep shortly after. SI Hanuman Meena was seated in the front next to the driver, while the other occupants, including two constables, were seated in the rear.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the car, possibly speeding, collided with the trailer ahead on the expressway. Authorities are considering the likelihood that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the tragic accident. Another angle being explored is the sudden braking of the trailer, leaving minimal time for the car’s driver to react. The driver of the car emerged unscathed, and the police are actively investigating the incident to determine the exact cause.
