Police in Burnaby, Canada, have suggested that the recent fatal shooting of Dilraj Singh Gill, a 28-year-old Indian-origin man, may be connected to the ongoing gang conflict in British Columbia. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) stated that on January 22, officers responded to reports of shots fired and found Gill, who tragically did not survive. The incident, believed to be targeted, is linked to the BC Gang conflict, according to IHIT.
Investigators are examining a vehicle found burning in connection with the homicide, actively gathering more information. Sergeant Freda Fong of IHIT emphasized the importance of community cooperation in the investigation, urging witnesses or individuals with relevant footage to come forward. Additionally, recent reports have highlighted the intertwining issues of Khalistani extremism and Punjabi-Canadian gang violence in Canada, underscoring the need for enhanced security measures and financial intelligence cooperation.
