A tragic incident unfolded at a scrap warehouse in Neemrana, resulting in the loss of four lives, one of whom was a 7-year-old girl. The fire, followed by an explosion, caused panic in the area late Friday evening. Satvir Singh, Superintendent of Police, Kotputli-Behror, confirmed the recovery of all four bodies and the initiation of investigations by the FSL team to determine the fire’s cause.
Eyewitnesses recounted how the fire engulfed a warehouse on Bichpuri Road in Mohladia village, where various scrap materials, including empty perfume bottles, were stored. Tragically, four individuals, including a young girl, were unable to escape and succumbed to the flames, with their bodies taken to a government hospital for further procedures.
The blaze quickly spread to a plastic granule manufacturing unit on the same premises, leading to a loud explosion that exacerbated the situation. Despite efforts to flee, workers were trapped due to a burning truck blocking the exit, forcing them to attempt scaling a boundary wall towards another unit, resulting in the unfortunate loss of lives.
Multiple fire brigades from Neemrana, Ghiloth, and the Japanese Zone rushed to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control after extensive firefighting efforts. Additionally, teams from the SDRF and forensic experts were mobilized to aid in rescue and investigation operations, with senior officials overseeing relief activities amid concerns of more workers being trapped inside.
Authorities expressed apprehension about the rising death toll, as two individuals were reported missing at the time of reporting. The identities of the deceased are pending confirmation, with DNA sampling planned for verification. While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, initial assessments suggest a lack of adequate firefighting measures at the warehouse and factory, potentially contributing to the rapid spread of the inferno.
