The initial group of SANJY-2026 pilgrims has reached the Baltal and Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camps ahead of the pilgrimage starting tomorrow. Today, 4,822 yatris departed from Jammu in two escorted convoys, with 2,510 reaching Nunwan and 2,312 arriving at Baltal.
At the Baltal base camp, the pilgrims received a warm welcome from officials including Minister Satish Sharma, DIG Maqsood Ul Zaman, DC Jatin Kishore, and SSP Sudhanshu Dhama. Security, traffic management, and public facilitation measures have been meticulously arranged by the authorities.
Dedicated teams and assistance booths have been set up to guide and support pilgrims throughout the yatra route. Officials emphasized the importance of adhering to advisories and cooperating with security personnel for a safe pilgrimage experience.
The J&K Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring a secure and seamless yatra, extending best wishes for a successful Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. At the Nunwan base camp, pilgrims were greeted by Deputy Commissioner Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, SSP Amod Ashok Nagpure, and other officials, who wished them a smooth journey to the Holy Cave.
Comprehensive arrangements including accommodation, healthcare, transportation, and langars have been made for the yatris. Service providers are offering essential items en route for the convenience of the devotees. Pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the preparations and are eager to begin their sacred journey early tomorrow morning.
