Five patients who were being treated at a hospital following injuries from the tragic fire at the Flourish Stay B&B in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, have been successfully removed from ventilators, as per a statement from Max Hospital, Saket. Currently, 15 patients are receiving care at the hospital, with 13 of them being foreign nationals.
Out of the six patients previously on ventilator support, five have been successfully taken off, while one patient remains on life support. Authorities have reported that all patients are in stable condition and are showing signs of improvement. At present, 14 patients are under care in the ICU and wards, with their conditions remaining stable.
The hospital mentioned that all patients are progressing well and are receiving comprehensive medical attention, close monitoring, and multidisciplinary support for optimal outcomes. Following the fire incident, 47 individuals were rescued from the building and are currently undergoing treatment.
Additionally, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has received several injured individuals, including police personnel who were part of the initial responders at the scene. The owner of the property, Lavkesh Bajaj, has been placed in police custody for four days. Bajaj had a previous arrest related to assisting Bangladeshi nationals with forged documents.
Moreover, Delhi Police have arrested the hotel’s cook in connection with the fire incident, attributing the cause to negligence on his part.
