Five young individuals tragically lost their lives in a road accident in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district while returning home after a friend’s wedding. The deceased, identified as Rama Sahoo, Abinash Sahoo, Rakesh Sahoo, Chandrakanta Swain, and Abhijit Sahoo, were residents of Bangursingh and Chainpurpatana villages. They were returning from a marriage function at Indipur village when their car veered off the road and plunged into a pond, resulting in their deaths.
Two occupants of the vehicle managed to escape, but the five others were trapped inside and could not be rescued in time. The bodies were recovered from the water and sent for post-mortem at the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital. The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
In a separate incident, three individuals, including a couple, lost their lives in a road accident in Odisha’s Kendujhar district. Trilochan Apat, who fell ill, was being taken to a hospital by his family when their car crashed into a tree. Trilochan, his wife, and brother passed away in the accident, while his son sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.
