In a significant crackdown on drug trade, the Greater Noida Police apprehended two Nigerian nationals for possessing banned narcotics. Among the seized items were 39.27 grams of crystal MDMA, an electronic weighing scale, and a scooter used for transportation. The arrested individuals had established a network for distributing prohibited substances like cannabis in housing societies and among college students.
The accused, identified as Anthony Chinwuba (alias David) and Amos Musa (alias Lucky), were found to be originally from Nigeria but currently residing in Greater Noida. Investigations revealed their involvement in a drug supply network operating in the National Capital Region for an extended period. The police, acting on local intelligence, conducted a successful operation to capture the suspects in the Ecotech-1 area.
Charged under the NDPS Act and relevant laws pertaining to foreign nationals, the arrested individuals are facing legal proceedings. The seized MDMA/methamphetamine, valued at Rs 3 to Rs 4 lakh, was allegedly trafficked from Delhi through illicit means and distributed to customers upon request via WhatsApp. Authorities are conducting a thorough probe into the criminal network and supply chain of the accused to trace the origin and distribution points of the narcotics.
