An incident of a foreign woman being molested in Mumbai has surfaced, with the victim sharing her ordeal through a video on social media. The woman expressed feeling uncomfortable as two individuals persistently followed her, despite her refusal for photos, leading to a distressing encounter. Mumbai Police has registered a case under relevant sections, FIR No. 97/26 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, against two unidentified suspects, with investigations ongoing.
Such incidents are not uncommon, as highlighted by past occurrences. In a separate incident on December 10, 2025, a foreign backpacker attending a concert in Guwahati alleged harassment. Similarly, on July 31, 2025, a foreign woman at Mumbai’s Gateway of India faced intrusion when a group of men surrounded her for unauthorized selfies, capturing the distressing event on video.
Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the recent molestation case, emphasizing the importance of ensuring safety and respect for individuals, especially visitors to the city.
