In a significant crackdown on illegal foreign residents, the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) have deported nine foreign women from Jaipur for overstaying their visas. These women, primarily employed at spa and wellness centers in the city, had entered India on tourist or short-term visas but failed to renew their documentation. The deported individuals, including women from Thailand, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Laos, were engaged as therapists in upscale spa facilities.
Authorities emphasized that stringent measures will persist against foreigners breaching India’s immigration laws. The enforcement action, triggered by intelligence inputs and local police cooperation, involved surprise inspections at various spa centers in Jaipur. During these checks, it was discovered that the women had continued to reside in India despite their visas expiring, leading to immediate deportation.
Following the operation, Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) Dharmendra Sagar urged accommodation providers like landlords, hoteliers, and guest house operators to diligently adhere to immigration regulations when hosting foreign nationals. He stressed the importance of verifying guests’ original passports and visas, submitting guest details via the online C-Form, and ensuring compliance with all reporting obligations under the Foreigners Act. Non-compliance, such as harboring foreigners without proper documentation, will result in severe legal repercussions under the Foreigners Act.
This deportation drive forms part of an ongoing effort to identify and expel illegally residing foreign nationals in Rajasthan while ensuring that commercial establishments fully comply with immigration laws.
