Former Champion Lakshya Sen to Face Ayush Shetty in All-Indian Clash at India Open Badminton Tournament

Former champion Lakshya Sen will compete against rising star Ayush Shetty in an all-Indian battle at the upcoming India Open Super 750 badminton tournament. The tournament, a prestigious event on the HSBC BWF World Tour, will be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium from January 13-18. The venue for the tournament has been shifted to a larger multi-purpose hall within the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex.

Players participating in the India Open will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the conditions, as the venue will also host the BWF World Championships later in August this year. The Indian contingent, including Lakshya Sen and others, will face tough competition right from the opening round.

In the men’s singles category, Lakshya Sen will take on Ayush Shetty, while PV Sindhu will compete against Vietnam’s Thuy Linh Nguyen in the opening round. The tournament will witness intense matchups, with players vying for a spot in the subsequent rounds. The competition promises to be challenging, with several top-ranked players in contention.

Former world no. 1 Kidambi Srikanth will face Lin Chun-Yi, while H S Prannoy will play against Lee Cheuk Yiu in the men’s singles category. In the women’s singles, Sindhu will battle against Nguyen, setting the stage for exciting encounters. The doubles category will also see tough competition, with notable pairs gearing up for intense matches.

The India Open Super 750 badminton tournament is expected to showcase high-quality badminton action, with players from around the world competing for top honors. The event holds significance for players aiming to make their mark on the international badminton circuit. Badminton enthusiasts can look forward to thrilling matches and intense rivalries during the tournament.
