Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda criticized the state BJP government, alleging that it is involved in scams under the guise of crop procurement. Hooda claimed that the government is imposing new conditions on farmers to avoid procuring crops, creating hurdles such as portal registration, gate passes, and biometric verification.
Hooda expressed concern over the treatment of farmers, stating that they are being burdened with unnecessary bureaucratic procedures. He emphasized that during the Congress regime, crop procurement was smooth and farmers did not face such challenges. Hooda also called for the resignation of party MLAs who had cross-voted against the Congress.
In response to the cross-voting issue, Congress party chief Rao Narendra Singh promised strict action against the defectors. He highlighted the importance of moral responsibility and warned that betraying the party and electorate would not be tolerated. Hooda, a two-time Chief Minister, has been visiting agricultural markets in the state to assess the situation and address farmers’ grievances.
Hooda accused the BJP government of orchestrating scams during various procurement seasons, aiming to exploit farmers. He criticized the government for its anti-farmer policies and emphasized the need to protect the interests of agricultural workers.
