Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district conducted a significant operation targeting drug peddlers, resulting in the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of heroin during naka checking activities. In the first incident, Nowshera Police took action against drug trafficking, intercepting a Scorpio vehicle at Thalka Naka where Wajid Khan was found in possession of around 11 grams of heroin.

Another operation at Lamberi led to the interception of a Scorpio vehicle, with four individuals found carrying heroin. The total seizure amounted to 13 grams, leading to the arrest of all involved parties. FIRs have been registered in both cases under the NDPS Act, with investigations ongoing.

District Police Rajouri emphasized their commitment to combating the drug menace, assuring continued strict legal actions against drug offenders. The public’s cooperation is sought in this endeavor. The J&K police and security forces have been actively targeting drug smugglers, peddlers, and individuals engaged in hawala money activities, aiming to disrupt the funding of terrorism in the region.

Anti-infiltration measures and efforts to prevent drug smuggling are being rigorously enforced by the army along the Line of Control (LoC) and by the Border Security Force (BSF) along the international border in J&K.
