Former India cricketer and BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee member Jatin Paranjape shared that Punjab Kings’ all-rounder Suryansh Shedge underwent specialized training in pressure simulation and shot selection at his Mumbai academy. This focused preparation has paid off, with Shedge delivering strong performances in the ongoing IPL 2026.
Under Paranjape’s guidance at the Vasu Paranjape Cricket Centre, Shedge impressed for Punjab Kings with a resilient 57 off 29 balls against Gujarat Titans, followed by a quick 25 off 17 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Paranjape highlighted Shedge’s ability to perform under pressure in various cricket formats and emphasized the importance of developing a diverse range of shots for different game scenarios.
Acknowledging Shedge’s perseverance while waiting for his chance in the PBKS team, Paranjape noted that injuries and form issues of other players opened the door for Shedge to showcase his skills. Paranjape encouraged Shedge to stay focused on the present moment during their training sessions and expressed optimism for the all-rounder’s continued success as Punjab Kings seek to break a three-match losing streak in their upcoming game against Delhi Capitals at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.
