Former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Jogi Ramesh expressed concerns about his safety and his family’s well-being, pointing fingers at minister Nara Lokesh for any potential harm. Ramesh accused Lokesh of orchestrating an attack on his residence, carried out by TDP cadres under MP Kesineni Chinni’s guidance. The incident, involving petrol bombs thrown at his house, was seen as an attempt to eliminate him and instill fear in his family.
Speaking at his residence in Ibrahimpatnam, Jogi Ramesh, accompanied by YSRCP leaders, emphasized his allegiance to Lord Venkateswara and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He defended his actions against false accusations targeting his leader, questioning the need for silence. Ramesh highlighted the attacks as a means to suppress dissent and intimidate Backward Class (BC) leaders within YSRCP, aiming to stifle their voices against government shortcomings.
Amid allegations of inaction by authorities despite evidence provided, Jogi Ramesh criticized the lack of arrests in connection with the attack on his house. He lamented the police’s failure to intervene, alleging their support for the attackers instead of ensuring his family’s safety during the assault. The YSRCP leader condemned the incident as an assault on democracy and backward communities, stressing the need for accountability and justice.
At an emergency meeting convened by YSRCP leaders following the incidents, concerns were raised over the alleged murder attempt on former minister Ambati Rambabu and the attack on Jogi Ramesh’s residence. Criticizing the prevailing law and order situation under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as chaotic, party leaders vowed to escalate their grievances nationally. They decried the suppression of opposition voices through intimidation tactics and vowed to intensify their efforts despite the challenges faced.
