Police in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, swiftly arrested four individuals within four hours of an assault on Forest Department officials during an anti-encroachment operation in Bhil Amla village. The attack involved villagers allegedly assaulting government employees, damaging public property, and disrupting official duties.
The arrests were made following the incident under the supervision of Dewas Superintendent of Police Puneet Gehlod. Efforts are ongoing to identify and capture other suspects involved in the violence. Authorities have warned of strict action against those responsible for attacking government workers and causing property damage.
The violence occurred when Forest Department personnel attempted to clear alleged encroachments in Bhil Amla village. A group of villagers confronted the officials, leading to an altercation where the attackers used sticks, clubs, and stones, resulting in injuries to five Forest Department employees. The assailants also vandalized government vehicles and machinery used for the operation.
Police officials, including Bagli Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Sanjay Singh Bais, Kamalapur Station House Officer Manoj Singh, and Bijwad Outpost In-charge Vinay Singh Baghel, swiftly responded to the scene to restore order. A case has been registered at Kamalapur police station, and investigations are ongoing with the possibility of more arrests as authorities work to apprehend all involved individuals.
