The job market is evolving, offering opportunities beyond traditional career paths due to rapid technological advancements and changing business requirements.
The employment landscape is diversifying, with opportunities expanding not only in core technology roles but also in business and people-centric functions. Entry-level hiring is on the rise in areas such as human resources, consulting, information technology, marketing, program and project management, and business development.
Industries like utilities, education, government administration, transportation and logistics, and energy technology are emerging as significant growth sectors for early-career professionals. This shift indicates that sectors previously not popular among freshers are now contributing significantly to job creation.
Nirajita Banerjee, Career Expert and India Senior Managing Editor at LinkedIn News, advised young professionals to explore unconventional career paths in the current dynamic job market. She emphasized the importance of building a versatile skill set that can transcend sectors and locations for career growth.
The report also highlights the increasing significance of small companies as entry points into the workforce. Hiring in firms with 1 to 10 employees has notably increased for both bachelor’s degree holders and the broader entry-level workforce between 2023 and 2025.
Geographically, hiring patterns are diversifying, with cities like Vijayawada, Bhopal, Jaipur, Indore, Gwalior, and Vadodara emerging as rapidly growing hubs for early-career talent, according to the report.
