New Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a wide-ranging list of new national office-bearers, with the appointments taking effect immediately. The decision was taken by national president Nitin Nabin on 17 August 2026.

One of the most prominent names in the fresh team is Smriti Irani, who has been appointed national general secretary. The former Union minister returns to a key organisational role, marking a significant comeback in the party’s national structure.

Other national general secretaries include Vinod Tawde from Maharashtra, Sunil Bansal from Delhi, Biplab Kumar Deb from Tripura, Satish Poonia from Rajasthan, Gajendra Patel from Madhya Pradesh, Harish Dwivedi from Uttar Pradesh, and Sanjay Bhatia from Haryana. BL Santhosh from Delhi continues in a pivotal position as national general secretary (Organisation).

The national joint general secretaries (Organisation) are Shivprakash from Mumbai and Saudan Singh from Chandigarh.

Thirteen leaders have been named national vice presidents. The list features Vasundhara Raje Scindia from Rajasthan, Tirath Singh Rawat from Uttarakhand, Ram Madhav from Delhi, Baijayant Jay Panda from Odisha, D. Purandeswari from Andhra Pradesh, Rekha Verma from Uttar Pradesh, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi from Gujarat, Bharti Pravin Pawar from Maharashtra, Manpreet Singh Badal from Punjab, Lal Singh Arya from Madhya Pradesh, M. Nagaraja from Karnataka, Tariq Mansoor from Uttar Pradesh, and Madhuchandra Kar from West Bengal.

Piyush Goyal from Maharashtra has been appointed national treasurer, while Rajesh Mangal from Rajasthan will serve as national joint treasurer.

A team of 16 national secretaries has also been named, including Kavita Patidar from Madhya Pradesh, K Surendran from Kerala, Bhola Singh from Uttar Pradesh, Pradip Varma from Jharkhand, Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel from Gujarat, Sandeep Pathak from Delhi, Phangnon Konyak from Nagaland, Sangeeta Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Anil Antony from Kerala, M. Venkateshan from Tamil Nadu, Manoj Tigga from West Bengal, Siddharth Shambhu from Bihar, Swadesh Singh from Delhi, Mriganka Deo Barman from Assam, Rohan Gupta from Gujarat, and Jai Prakash from Delhi.

In the organisational support structure, Tarun Chugh from Punjab has been made central office in-charge and Mahendra Pandey from Uttarakhand is central office secretary. Sambit Patra from Odisha will coordinate the North-East, assisted by Rajiv Babbar from Delhi. Vishnu Datt Sharma from Madhya Pradesh has been appointed all-cells coordinator, with Rituraj Sinha from Bihar and Vishnu Vardhan Reddy from Andhra Pradesh as joint coordinators.

The party has also named presidents for its various morchas. Hemang Joshi from Gujarat will lead the Yuva Morcha, Roop Kumari Choudhary from Chhattisgarh the Mahila Morcha, Amarpal Maurya from Uttar Pradesh the OBC Morcha, Bansilal Gurjar from Madhya Pradesh the Kisan Morcha, Shivesh Kumar Ram from Bihar the SC Morcha, Mannalal Rawat from Rajasthan the ST Morcha, and Kunwar Basit Ali from Uttar Pradesh the Minority Morcha.

On the media front, Anil Baluni from Uttarakhand has been appointed Media Convenor, supported by co-convenors Ashish Usha Agrawal from Madhya Pradesh, Pradeep Bhandari from Delhi, and Siddharth Yadav from Delhi. For social media, Deepak Mhaskey from Chhattisgarh will serve as Convenor, with Priti Gandhi from Maharashtra, Shivanand Dwivedi from Delhi, Alok Bhatt from Uttarakhand, and Arun Yadav from Haryana as co-convenors.

The appointments have been made on a broad geographical spread and include both experienced leaders and relatively newer faces. The new team is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the party’s organisational machinery across the country.
