The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the license of Rehaan Healthcare due to serious non-compliance with food safety regulations at its manufacturing unit. The company has been instructed to halt all food-related activities and production until the issues are rectified and compliance is confirmed by the competent authority.
Following an inspection that revealed significant non-compliance, the FSSAI took action against Rehaan Healthcare. The regulator emphasized that if the company disregards the suspension order, legal measures will be taken.
The manufacturing facility received a mere 12% compliance score, indicating severe failure to adhere to regulations. The premises were found to be unsanitary and disorganized, with risks of cross-contamination due to poor hygiene practices and infrastructure deficiencies.
Inspectors discovered various shortcomings in the manufacturing unit, including inadequate storage, workspace, ventilation, and lighting. The absence of a valid drinking water test report and pest infestation were also noted, posing health risks to consumers, especially children and vulnerable groups.
Rehaan Healthcare, known for producing health supplements and nutraceuticals, faces scrutiny for its unhygienic conditions and lack of food safety controls. The FSSAI’s recent enforcement actions target companies violating food safety norms and misleading consumers.
