Gangster Vainket Garg has been successfully extradited from Georgia to India by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI, along with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and Haryana Police, facilitated Garg’s return to India. Garg, a notorious criminal, faced charges in multiple cases filed by the Haryana Police, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, organized crime, and illegal firearm use.
Officials revealed that Garg was initially arrested during an investigation but absconded after being granted bail by the court, fleeing India to avoid legal actions. Following a Red Notice issued against Garg by INTERPOL at the request of Haryana Police, Georgian authorities arrested him. Subsequently, after due legal procedures, Georgia approved Garg’s extradition to India.
In a joint effort with local authorities, a team from Haryana Police traveled to Georgia to take custody of Garg. They successfully brought him back to New Delhi. The CBI, acting as India’s National Central Bureau for INTERPOL, collaborates with various law enforcement agencies in the country through BHARATPOL for international assistance via INTERPOL channels.
The CBI highlighted that in recent years, more than 160 wanted criminals have been repatriated to India through effective coordination among different agencies. Additionally, the CBI confirmed the deportation of another individual, Ganesh Balaso Kale, from Thailand to India. Kale was wanted for involvement in cybercrime fraud, where victims were deceived with promises of online part-time jobs, leading to financial losses.
