Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has announced the direct crediting of Rs 45.26 crore to over 2.24 lakh beneficiaries in the state, focusing on social security and financial empowerment. This disbursement includes both existing and new members of the Griha Aadhar and Dayanand Social Security Scheme.
During the announcement event, attended by state ministers Vishwajit Rane and Subhash Phal Dessai, Dr. Sawant highlighted a policy shift to enhance welfare delivery. Going forward, financial aid under these schemes will be credited by the 10th of each month, aiming to eliminate delays and enhance transparency for beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister stressed the significance of these initiatives in upholding the government’s commitment to Antyodaya, serving the most marginalized in society. By bolstering the financial safety net for families, women, senior citizens, and widows, the administration continues its focus on vulnerable groups.
The Sawant administration in Goa has introduced various welfare measures to promote comprehensive development. Notable among these is the Swayampurna Goa initiative, which brings government services directly to rural communities. The Laadli Laxmi Scheme supports women’s empowerment by offering financial aid for girls’ marriage or higher education.
The Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Policy targets youth, bridging the gap between education and employment, while the Cyberage Scheme ensures students have access to necessary technology. Furthermore, healthcare access has been expanded through the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY), providing insurance coverage to Goan families. These efforts reflect a governance model emphasizing social equity and long-term economic stability.
