To support domestic consumption, refineries have boosted domestic LPG production by 40%. In response to rising crude prices due to the Middle East crisis, the government has reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 per liter to shield consumers. Moreover, a levy has been imposed on diesel and aviation turbine fuel exports to maintain sufficient domestic availability.
Domestic refiners are now required to allocate 50% of exported petrol and 30% of exported diesel to the domestic market. The government assures that all refineries are operating at full capacity with ample crude inventories, ensuring a steady supply of petrol and diesel for consumers.
