Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering young Indians through job creation, skill development, and active involvement in policymaking. These efforts, part of the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision, have resulted in over 12 lakh appointment letters distributed in the central government via Rozgar Melas. Sitharaman underscored the importance of equipping youth with skills, opportunities, and platforms to contribute significantly to the nation’s progress.
In line with the ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative, the government has focused on engaging young individuals in policymaking processes. Sitharaman mentioned her interaction with college students post the Union Budget presentation, showcasing the government’s dedication to incorporating diverse perspectives. Additionally, through the PM Internship Scheme, young Indians are gaining exposure to top 500 companies through internships.
The National Sports Policy 2025 aims to provide athletes with modern facilities, sports science support, medical care, technology-based performance analysis, world-class coaching, and early international exposure. Sitharaman highlighted the intrinsic link between India’s growth trajectory and the accomplishments of its youth, emphasizing the importance of nurturing future leaders to steer the nation forward. The finance minister also noted the significant contributions of young minds through platforms like the Mygovindia portal, where innovative ideas are considered for budgetary inclusion.
