Completing 11 years since their launch on May 9, 2015, the Central government’s Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) are still offering vital financial assistance to families in need. These schemes, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, provide affordable insurance protection and have become a crucial support system for families during accidents, deaths, or financial crises.

Residents in Balrampur, Chhattisgarh, have attested to the significance of these schemes for the economically weaker sections. Shailesh Gupta from Ramanujganj emphasized the substantial support these initiatives offer to poor and middle-class families. He expressed gratitude towards the government for providing a substantial security cover at a minimal premium, preventing families from facing financial hardships during emergencies.

Beneficiaries like B.D. Lal Gupta from Purandih Gram Panchayat have also lauded the schemes for their positive impact on poor families. Lal Gupta shared his experience of witnessing accident victims benefit from the insurance scheme at Ramanujganj Hospital, highlighting the critical financial aid it provides to those in need. Similarly, Sita Ram Gupta from Devgai Gram Panchayat praised the extensive insurance coverage offered at a nominal cost, acknowledging the scheme’s significant support for economically vulnerable families.
