Gujarat and Luxembourg are exploring collaboration in green finance and long-term infrastructure development. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Luxembourg’s Finance Minister Gilles Roth met in Gandhinagar to discuss leveraging Luxembourg’s expertise in green bonds and sustainable finance. Gujarat aims to enhance its presence in green energy and financing.
The meeting, described as a courtesy call, emphasized Gujarat’s interest in benefiting from Luxembourg’s experience in green financing. Chief Minister Patel highlighted the state’s commitment to green energy initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He stressed the importance of sustainable development and green growth.
Luxembourg, known for its significant financial presence globally, expressed interest in strengthening financial ties with India and Gujarat. The Memorandum of Understanding between GIFT City and Luxembourg’s financial authority has enhanced financial cooperation between the two sides. Luxembourg also aims to increase investments in the international financing sector at GIFT City.
Chief Minister Patel invited the Luxembourg delegation to participate in upcoming global and regional summits in Gujarat. In response, Minister Roth invited the Chief Minister and a delegation from Gujarat to visit Luxembourg for further discussions on collaboration opportunities.
