Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that he cannot comprehend the hardships of rural poverty or mothers affected by ‘chulhas’ smoke. Vishwakarma, while campaigning for local body elections in Junagadh, mentioned that Rahul Gandhi’s background in Italy disconnects him from village life realities. He accused the Congress of neglecting Gujarat for years and trying to tarnish the state’s image.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Vishwakarma highlighted the progress of both the country and Gujarat. He praised the swift approval of the Narmada dam project within 17 days of Modi becoming Prime Minister, fulfilling Sardar Patel’s vision. Vishwakarma also addressed farmers’ concerns, mentioning relief measures during adverse weather conditions and support prices for crops.
Vishwakarma emphasized the success of natural farming among over 10 lakh farmers in Gujarat, attributing it to the efforts of Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. He mentioned initiatives like the Kisan Suryoday Yojana, aiming to provide daytime electricity for agriculture in 16,000 villages. Additionally, he highlighted advancements in water supply, infrastructure, and solar energy installations in the state.
Critiquing opposition parties’ election readiness, Vishwakarma claimed that they lack full sets of candidates and cannot deceive the people of Gujarat. He urged voters to secure a significant victory for BJP candidates in the upcoming district panchayat, taluka panchayat, and municipal elections on April 26.
