Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel distributed appointment letters to 3,084 drivers and 1,658 helpers selected for the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). This initiative aims to enhance the state’s public transport system, improving connectivity and service delivery. Patel commended the GSRTC drivers as crucial for ensuring safe and reliable travel for citizens, highlighting their role in the state’s modern transport network.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has connected even the most remote areas through various services, including bus transportation. Patel emphasized the importance of professionalism, physical fitness, and mental balance for the drivers and helpers. The state has upgraded its transport fleet with modern amenities like GPS tracking and mobile app monitoring for citizens.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi expressed appreciation for the dedication of government employees in essential services. Sanghavi announced the state’s goal to increase daily ridership of GSRTC buses to 30 lakh passengers by 2027. This increase in public transport usage is expected to alleviate highway congestion and reduce vehicular pollution. The GSRTC has made significant strides in expanding its fleet and facilities to provide clean, comfortable, and punctual services for passengers.
