Gujarat Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Das highlighted the significant and lasting effects of decisions made at the Secretariat level, stressing their influence on governance and public welfare over time. Speaking at a training program for Deputy Secretaries in Gandhinagar, Das emphasized the importance of ensuring that policy choices are accurate and beneficial for citizens. He also underscored the need for Secretariat officers to stay updated with technological advancements, especially in the era of rapid AI and digital transformation.

The training program, themed “Enhancing Administrative Capacities and Leadership,” aims to enhance administrative skills in light of emerging governance challenges and technological changes. Das pointed out that decisions made by Secretariat officers have a profound impact on citizens’ lives, urging for correctness and clarity in administrative responsibilities. He also emphasized the necessity of simplifying administrative processes to reduce unnecessary documentation for citizens accessing government services.

Das further highlighted the importance of aligning Gujarat’s administrative system with the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047,’ aiming for global standards in well-performing sectors and top national rankings in others.
