Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted the importance of clarity and sensitivity in public administration while inaugurating a three-day Chintan Shibir of the state’s Revenue Department. He stressed the need for officials to address citizens’ issues with empathy and without worry. Patel urged officials to work towards public welfare and implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance mantra in the state.
The Chintan Shibir, themed ‘Collaborate, Innovate and Transform for Better Land Governance,’ gathered District Collectors and revenue officials from across Gujarat for discussions. The Chief Minister called for a “zero tolerance” approach towards citizens’ grievances and emphasized the vision of a ‘Developed India at 2047’. Spiritual speaker Deepakbhai Desai encouraged officials to integrate spirituality with their duties during the inaugural session.
Minister of State for Revenue, Sanjaysinh Mahida, highlighted Gujarat’s adoption of faceless and paperless governance to enable digital transformation. He mentioned the use of drone technology and satellite imagery to enhance land survey processes. The Revenue Department has made efforts to simplify administrative processes and update land records in real-time with modern reforms.
Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Das praised the Revenue Department’s performance in land allocation for development projects. He noted Gujarat’s leading position in renewable energy sectors and the department’s contribution to this success. Additional Chief Secretary Jayanti Ravi emphasized the need for internal balance and spiritual energy in administrative duties, aiming to enhance officers’ effectiveness amidst challenges.
