Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi inaugurated the Vadodara City Police’s new Command and Control Centre at the Police Bhavan. The centre, established under the Gujarat Police’s Smart Policing initiative through the NETRAM project, aims to enhance city-level monitoring and operational efficiency with advanced technology. Director General of Police K. L. N. Rao and City Police Commissioner Narsimha Komar welcomed Sanghavi at the Police Bhavan.
The inauguration ceremony included the unveiling of a plaque to mark the official opening of the centre. The City Police Commissioner highlighted that the facility enables real-time crime detection, coordination during city events, and efficient police resource management. The centre’s capabilities allow continuous monitoring of Vadodara’s security and traffic conditions for faster incident response and improved public safety.
Sanghavi, after the ceremony, toured the centre to observe the monitoring systems, including CCTV coverage of key city areas. He was briefed on how the technology supports security and traffic management. Stressing the importance of leveraging modern technology in policing, Sanghavi suggested further integration of advanced systems for city security operations. He also left a note in the visit book presented by the City Police Commissioner.
The new Command and Control Centre signifies a significant stride in modernizing policing in Vadodara. By integrating technology with law enforcement, the facility aims to enhance crime prevention, traffic management, and serve as a central hub for monitoring and coordination.
