The Gujarat government is set to conduct a series of welfare, environmental, and outreach initiatives across the state next month to commemorate 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led Union government. These programs will include large-scale plantation drives, ‘Jan Kalyan’ camps, natural farming workshops, and visits to major development projects. State government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani revealed the plans after a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
The celebrations, themed “12 Years: Of Trust, Development and Public Welfare,” will kick off nationally in Delhi on June 8 and 9 with media interactions involving BJP national president and Union Council of Ministers members. In Gujarat, Chief Minister Patel and the state Cabinet will engage with media representatives on June 11 and 12 to discuss the transformation and development works undertaken during this period. The state government aims to bring “12 years of continuous good governance, service, and nation-building works” to the public through these initiatives.
Under the spirit of “Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay,” the government plans to expand the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign on World Environment Day, June 5, by planting around six crore trees with participation from various organizations and educational institutions. A statewide cleanliness campaign focusing on plastic waste management is scheduled from June 8 to 14 in rural and urban areas. Additionally, ‘Jan Kalyan Camps’ will be organized from June 12 to 20 to provide doorstep services to citizens.
The government will also conduct a ‘Pragatipath Yatra’ from June 8 to 14, visiting major development projects and high-priority schemes across Gujarat. Exhibitions showcasing the achievements of the Modi government will be held in each district for three days, accompanied by public feedback collection. Special meetings with professionals and influencers will be arranged to ensure wider public engagement, with a focus on tribal communities, Scheduled Castes, OBCs, farmers, and youth.
