The State Monitoring Cell of Gujarat Police has exposed an alleged oil theft scheme in Kutch district, seizing six tankers, over 200,000 kg of oil, and equipment valued at Rs 4.34 crore. Eleven individuals have been apprehended, with five others listed as wanted in the case.
The operation unfolded with a raid at an open ground in the Ratadiya farmland area near Mundra. The site, situated by the highway leading to Mundra, saw the confiscation of tankers, oil, and related gear, with a total estimated worth exceeding Rs 4.34 crore.
Among the seized items were tankers, a significant amount of oil, mobile phones, a motorcycle, barrels, carboys, and various other equipment. The arrested individuals, including laborers and tanker drivers, hail from different states and have been handed over for further investigation.
Police have identified five individuals as wanted in connection with the case, with ongoing efforts to unravel the full scope of the alleged oil theft network and the involvement of the accused.
