In a move to boost the healthcare manufacturing sector in Gujarat, the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has unveiled plans for a specialized Medical Device Park in Nagalpar, Rajkot district. This project aims to create a comprehensive ecosystem for the medical device industry, encompassing research, manufacturing, quality testing, and global exports all in one location.
The upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot is set to be a key platform for showcasing the investment opportunities presented by the Nagalpar Medical Device Park to a global audience. Rajkot, known for orthopedic and surgical device manufacturing, will host the conference with a focus on highlighting investment prospects in various sectors such as engineering, ports, logistics, agriculture, and food processing in the Kutch and Saurashtra regions.
Scheduled for January 2026, VGRC Rajkot will bring together global investors, industry leaders, and government officials, providing opportunities for strategic partnerships, land allocations, and market entry into India’s expanding medical device sector.
Spread across about 336 acres, the proposed Nagalpar Medical Device Park is envisioned as a comprehensive industrial hub, streamlining the entire value chain from research and development to production, certification, and international market access.
The initiative underscores Gujarat’s commitment to establishing itself as a prominent player in India’s rapidly growing medical device manufacturing sector. The strategic location of Nagalpar offers logistical advantages, being close to key ports and major transportation links, facilitating efficient access to global markets.
To cater to modern manufacturing needs, the park will offer advanced infrastructure with facilities like a water supply system, solid waste management, sewage treatment plant, and a 66 KV substation for uninterrupted power supply. Additionally, plans include a common warehouse and logistics center to enhance supply chain efficiency for manufacturers within the park.
This development highlights Gujarat’s focus on high-value manufacturing and its aspiration to lead the medical device industry nationally. By combining infrastructure readiness with sector-specific policy support, Gujarat aims to foster sustainable industrial growth and maintain its reputation as an investment-friendly state.
