The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is planning to set up a specialized Medical Device Park in Nagalpar, Rajkot. Spanning 336 acres, this park aims to provide a complete ecosystem for the medical device industry, supporting research, manufacturing, and global exports.
Located strategically, the Nagalpar site offers excellent connectivity to major ports like Pipavav, Kandla, and Mundra. With Rajkot Airport nearby, the region is well-connected to cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru, enhancing domestic and international travel. Moreover, the park’s proximity to NH27, a significant national highway, facilitates easy access to cities such as Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Delhi.
The Medical Device Park will feature plug-and-play utilities, offering essential infrastructure for manufacturers. It includes a water supply system with a proposed capacity of 3.5 million liters per day, dedicated solid waste management, a sewage treatment plant, and a planned 66 KV substation for uninterrupted power supply. Additionally, a Common Warehouse and Logistics Centre will support efficient logistics within the park.
This initiative underscores Gujarat’s commitment to strengthening its position in India’s growing medical device manufacturing sector. The upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot will provide a platform to leverage the investment opportunities arising from the new Medical Device Park at Nagalpar. Rajkot, known for orthopedic and surgical device manufacturing, will showcase the strengths of the Kutch and Saurashtra regions in sectors like Engineering, Ports & Logistics, and Agro & Food Processing.
