Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel sanctioned Rs 629 crore on Monday for the expansion of six crucial roads in Gujarat’s Kutch district. This initiative aims to enhance rural connectivity, facilitate freight movement to Mundra Port, and boost tourism in the area.
The approved funding is part of a larger state government project to enhance key road networks throughout Gujarat. It will be utilized to widen and enhance various roads and bypasses in and around Mundra and neighboring villages in Kutch.
The sanctioned projects include the four-laning of the Mundra-Luni Vadala Road, widening and improvement of the Deshalpar-Siracha Road, and upgrades to several other roads in the region. These developments are intended to strengthen rural connectivity in Kutch and enhance transportation infrastructure for local residents.
The new four-lane roads are expected to enhance travel convenience for villagers, alleviate congestion in populated areas, and facilitate smoother movement of goods to and from Mundra Port. By improving road infrastructure, the projects aim to support economic growth and industrial development in the region.
The upgraded road network is anticipated to benefit freight transportation to and from Mundra Port, divert heavy traffic from village centers, and enhance access to industrial zones. This improved connectivity is poised to boost economic activities in Kutch, which has seen substantial industrial expansion and emerged as a prominent tourism destination.
