Harry Kane broke Gary Lineker’s record for the most goals scored by an England player at the FIFA World Cup during the victory against Panama at New Jersey Stadium. Kane equaled Lineker’s record during England’s World Cup 2026 opener in Dallas and then surpassed it with his 11th goal against Panama.
Kane’s header in the final group stage match against Panama elevated him above Lineker’s tally, adding another milestone to his name. Having won the Golden Boot at Russia 2018 with six goals, Kane continued his scoring prowess with two more goals at Qatar 2022 against Senegal and France.
As England’s all-time leading goal scorer, Kane also ranks joint fourth in the list of most appearances for the national team. With his goal in his 117th appearance, Kane has now netted 82 goals for England, solidifying his position at the top of the all-time goal scorers for the England men’s senior team.
