The ‘Harry Potter’ TV series has already secured a second season green light even before the first season airs. Scheduled for a Christmas debut, the show aims to adapt all seven ‘Harry Potter’ books by J.K. Rowling into seven seasons over a decade. Season 2, based on ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, will start filming this autumn.
Jon Brown, a writer for the first season, has been promoted to co-showrunner for Season 2, joining Francesca Gardiner. Gardiner expressed the need for a co-showrunner to maintain production momentum, praising Brown’s writing skills and collaborative nature. The show’s creators are thrilled about the upcoming collaboration for the series.
The first season, titled ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, follows Harry’s journey as he enters Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on his 11th birthday. The show’s executive producers include Francesca Gardiner, director Mark Mylod, J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman. Warner Bros. Television handles the production.
