Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini praised the Sikh community for its significant contributions to the nation, highlighting their legacy of bravery, sacrifice, and steadfast dedication to faith. Speaking at a gathering organized by the Sikh Sangat in Chandigarh, he emphasized the community’s historical examples of valor and selflessness, noting their refusal to yield to oppression.
Saini acknowledged the pivotal role played by Sikh spiritual leaders, from Guru Nanak Dev to Guru Gobind Singh, in guiding humanity towards service, equality, and courage. He also honored the sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur and the four Sahibzadas, underscoring their role in safeguarding the nation’s spiritual and cultural values.
The Chief Minister underscored the government’s efforts, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to preserve and promote India’s religious and cultural heritage. He mentioned initiatives such as the development of heritage circuits in various Sikh pilgrimage sites and the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor, symbolizing the government’s commitment to the Sikh community.
Paying tribute to the Sahibzadas, Saini highlighted the annual observance of Veer Bal Diwas on December 26 to commemorate their supreme sacrifice. He also announced the renaming of educational institutions and infrastructure projects after revered Sikh figures, such as Guru Tegh Bahadur and Baba Fateh Singh, as a gesture of respect and recognition.
