Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij stated that the forthcoming state Budget will meet the public’s expectations. Addressing the state’s law and order situation, he emphasized the government’s commitment to its duties. Vij highlighted the priority of enhancing the power system to ensure uninterrupted and high-quality electricity supply to consumers.
The minister responded to media queries, including one about the Congress party’s remarks on the state’s rising debt. Vij humorously questioned if the Congress had shifted from politics to running an astrologer’s shop. He mentioned that the Budget is still in the preparation phase, with inputs being gathered from various stakeholders. The Chief Minister is actively engaging with all departments to craft a robust budget.
In efforts to uphold law and order, approximately 5,000 troublemakers have been incarcerated, showcasing the government’s dedication to its responsibilities. Discussions with Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar were held to enhance the energy sector’s development, ensuring energy-related benefits reach the state’s populace with central support. Vij reiterated the significance of improving the power infrastructure for seamless electricity provision, noting the ongoing upgrades in transformers and conductors across Haryana.
The minister highlighted the necessity of securing coal blocks for new thermal plants, citing plans for 800 MW units in Panipat and Khedar. Recent coal linkage allocation for the Khedar unit is expected to expedite its progress. Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated a new 800 MW unit in Yamunanagar, signaling advancement in the project.
