Haryana women and Delhi men secured victories in the Khelo India Beach Games 2026 finals, dashing Bihar’s gold medal hopes in Sepak-takraw. Haryana’s women overcame an initial setback to defeat Bihar 2-1 after a thrilling hour and 15-minute match. Meanwhile, Delhi men clinched a straightforward 2-0 win over Bihar.
In Beach Soccer, Odisha’s defending champions dominated with a 7-0 victory against Himachal Pradesh, advancing to the women’s final. The winning team saw Srijana Tamang, Satyabati Khadia, and Khundongbam Ambalika each scoring two goals.
Gujarat’s women’s team showcased a strong performance in Beach Soccer, securing a 6-3 win over Arunachal Pradesh. Gujarat’s skipper, Giani Ramching Mara, scored consistently but lacked support from teammates against Gujarat’s solid defense.
Tamil Nadu’s Beach Volleyball teams are poised for success in both the men’s and women’s categories. The women’s team, Deepika and Pavithra, rallied from a set down to defeat their teammates and will now compete for the gold against Pondicherry’s Revathi and Swetha. In the men’s final, Tamil Nadu’s Bharat and Rajesh will face off against Goa’s Sawan and Gauns.
The Khelo India Beach Games 2026, hosted by the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, is being conducted under the supervision of the Sports Authority of India and national sports federations. The event features over 1100 participants competing in eight sports, with volleyball, soccer, sepaktakraw, kabaddi, pencak silat, open water swimming, mallakhamb, and tug-of-war being contested for 32 gold medals.
